Foundation Los Cachorros ("the cubs", a common Peruvian nickname for street children) provides help to Peruvian street children from 6 to 16 years of age who, for a diversity of reasons.

Have to spend the nights on the street. The reasons for having to live their lives on the street often include the fact that the parents cannot support the (often large) families. Everyone HAS TO bring some money to the family income. Thus, children are also sent to work, without a chance to return, unless they can also make enough money. Domestic violence and abuse are also reasons for children to flee to the streets. Los Cachorros helps these children by providing them with a safe haven where they can spend the night. In addition, Los Cachorros gives the children a lot of personal attention and love, so that the children can develop themselves in social and mental respect. Furthermore, the children are provided with plenty of opportunities to play and to learn, in order to support them towards an independent future as adults. Los Cachorros provides the four essential keywords for childhood: bed, bath, bread and coaching. Or, in other words, we make sure that these kids can be kids again
