 About Us:
MundoHempis an idea that iniciated in 1998 with the intention of introducing hemp as a natural alternative and renewable product in Perú; in 2005 we opened our house in Cusco, Perú reaffirming the inicial compromise: "Sow culture and make hemp known".
MundoHempis a project on a large scale that looks for creating conscience and educate about hemp and its nutricious and industrial benefits.
We're looking to establish a balanced and just relationship between human beings and nature, helping to improve the quality of life in the peruvian communities
As the first step we opened the doors of a house in Cusco where you can get to know up close the benefits and caracteristics of hemp in a variety of products form clothes to household, all localy fabricated and woven by the community Mama Oqllo in Chinchero, Cusco; they work respecting the ancient procedures of weaving with regional herbs and plants, making colors that are unique because they depend directly on the plants and the season (and the mood of pachamama).
Our Café gives you the oportunity to try upclose the hemp through dishes, soups and sweets, all made with flour and oil of hemp mixed with organic products cultivated by andean communities in the Project Casa Ecológica, making exciting tastes and texturas, a different and healthy experience. We are what we eat.
Mundo Hemp moreover provides clear and actualised information about hemp; its use and general public benefits; we relieve that the best way to gain conscienceness about the differences between hemp and marihuana is the cultivation. Both plants come from the same family, Cannabis Sativa L., nevertheless hemp doens't contain the same level of the psychoactive THC (<0.3%) and thus has no toxic effect on human beings.
A lot of people don't know that hemp is a plant that has been used as a natural resource for over 5000 years in almost every civilisation, basicly for the fabrication of rope, cloth, paper, paitings, oil, flour; up to vegetable fuel. Canada, Germany, Chile, China, Rumania amongst others are countries where they continue to cultivate hemp with fine industries and comerces.
A percentage of our sales finances the projects and campaigns about information and cultivation of hemp in the different communities of Perú.
